Loy Krathong Day

Loy Krathong is an important holiday in thailand. It is a day that the Thai people believe you can change you life by getting rid of tha bad luck or bad thing that you have done in the past.
Loy means to float and the Krathong is a cup made from banana leaves. The holiday is celebrated on the first full moon in November every year.

Sometimes, a young man and his girlfriend will float their krathongs at the same time. They watch them to see if the two krathongs stay close together or begin to float apart because if they stay together they  believe that they will stay together, too. if the floats drift apart, the young man and girl believe that they are destined to break up too.
So, if you fine youself in thailand during the month of November, make sure to take part in this celebration of new beginnings. Most tourist hotels will allow tourists to float their krathong in the hotel swimming pool. and, some of the hotels located on the river will hire a boat to take their guests on a boat ride to see the beautiful floats drifting slowly down the river.
